College Bound’s mission is to prepare public and public charter school students in the metropolitan D.C. area to enter college, earn a degree, and achieve their personal and professional goals. College Bound provides tutoring, mentoring, ACT/SAT preparation, academic and career guidance and continuing post-graduate virtual mentoring free-of-charge to assist students in the District of Columbia metropolitan area in meeting their post-secondary educational goals.
With the Many Hands grant, Taedra Pedonti of College Bound launched the Virtual Mentoring Program (VMP) at College Bound last year. The program has 87% of its first year participants returning to college for their second year. The VMP has launched its second year with nearly 100 students. Congratulations College Bound! Taedra was featured on ABC on September 25, 2013.
College Bound was again featured on ABC news in September 2016. Marking its 25th anniversary, the story showcased the real difference College Bound is making for worthy DC area public school students.
