Friends of Guest House, the 2018 recipient of the Many Hands $100,000 Impact Grant, has expanded into Old Town Alexandria after transforming a historic office building into a home for 20 formerly incarcerated women. The new building expands the number of beds available in Guest House’s six-month residential program from 26 to 30, but it leaves the program far short of meeting the demand for its services. Each year more than 400 women apply for roughly 60 available slots. To read more about the new space on the Friends of Guest House blog, click here. For local coverage of the expansion, click here.
