Many Hands was proud to join other local giving circles in co-hosting PowerUP! Baltimore, the Philanos national conference which took place at The Four Seasons Baltimore, November 5-7, 2023. The conference had 325 attendees, representing 60 giving circles and networks.

Twelve members attended the conference, includingWendy Gray, who spoke on a panel about strategic planning, and Melissa O’Neil and Ellen Oshinsky, who represented Many Hands in Philanos’s inaugural cohort of DEI Advocates. Wendy Gray and Mary Kwak served on the conference Steering Committee, and Tracy Ganti served on the Program Committee.

At the closing plenary, we were delighted to receive one of three Spotlight Awards, honoring transformational grantmaking. The award recognizes the partnership between My Sister’s Place and CAAB, both 2022 grantees, in creating The RISE Trust, the first cash transfer program for domestic violence survivors nationwide.
