Many Hands warmly invites you to attend our fall education event. Join us by Zoom on Thursday, November 21, for a look at the opportunities generated by career and technical education (CTE). Over the past century, CTE has evolved into a rigorous academic option for students preparing for a variety of post-high school futures.
We are privileged to have two leading experts join us for this moderated discussion:
- Robert B. Schwartz is emeritus professor of practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and co-founder of the Pathways to Prosperity Network, a network of K-12 and postsecondary education leaders, policymakers, and employers that develops college and career pathways to expand economic opportunity for young people and meet regional talent needs.
- Dr. Erin Bibo is vice president, strategic initiatives, of CityWorksDC, whose mission is to dramatically improve the early career outcomes of DC youth and young adults of color by creating innovative programs and by mobilizing employers, educators, and city leaders to create a local, diverse talent pipeline.
In preparation for this discussion, we suggest reading What is Career and Technical Education, a brief primer on the subject published in Forbes in July 2024, or From Margins to Mainstream: Bringing Career-Connected Learning to Scale, a more in-depth article appearing in the Spring 2024 issue of American Educator.
WHEN: Thursday, November 21, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
